After a warm and amazing day in 2022, the Somerford Show is back in 2023 to bring you the best of the countryside and a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Taking place on Saturday 12th August 2023, The Somerford Show provides a wide range of events, from horticultural and industrial competitions showcasing the best of local produce and talent in the main tent, a dog show, a duck race, horse events with clear round, unaffiliated show jumping classes from lead rein to 100/105cm, Show Hunter and Working Hunter classes and many other showing classes including Gymkhana and fancy dress.

The show is a charitable organisation and we are very proud to raise money and support local charities. We have donated thousands of pounds to worthy local causes, including: Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, Youth Action Wiltshire, Swindon GWH Brighter Futures, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Local Schools. All profit from the show goes towards these worthy causes.

Whats happening on the day?

In addition to all the sections, competitions and events below, the Somerford Show has something for everyone for a good day out. We have a fun fail for all ages, a fully licensed bar selling locally brewed beer and more plus plenty of choice of food to keep you fuelled for your visit and have the energy to take part in all the activities we have on offer.

Come and see or enter the hundreds of locally grown entries across a wide variety of classes, including: Fruit, Vegetables, Floral and Agricultural.

Industrial Section

Find the hand made entries across a wide variety of classes, including: Needlework and Knitting; Arts; Photography; Cooking and Baking and Flower Arranging.

The Dog
Show

The Dog Show is always a fun filled part of show day. There are wide range of classes for all ages, from children to the more serious competitors alike.

The Duck
Race

The duck race takes competition to a new level. Pit your wits against some of the finest duck racers Wiltshire has to offer for your chance to take home the big prize!

The Tractor
Run Sun 4th June

Come and take part in or watch the tractor run on Sunday 4th June, from Olivemead Farm, Dauntsey. See the machinery that ran the countries agricultural industry parade through the countryside and enjoy a day out and a picnic while raising money for Wiltshire Air

Scarrotts Fun Fair come to the Somerford Show and give adults and children alike a great time. Open on the Friday and Saturday of the show.

DIRECTIONS TO The Somerford Show Ground

From Junction 17 of the M4 Motorway take the B4122, at the next junction turn left on to the B4069 towards Sutton Benger. In Sutton Benger turn left in front of the Church which is opposite ‘The Bell’ Hotel. Take this country route for about 4 miles, go through the village of Great Somerford and the Show Ground is on the left hand side just over the river as you leave the village.

From Swindon and M4 Junction 16 take the Wootton Bassett road and at the second roundabout take the B4042 signposted for Brinkworth and Malmesbury; follow the signs for the Somerfords and once in Little Somerford proceed to Great Somerford and after 3⁄4 mile the Show Ground will be on your right just before the river.
